Our Elementary Law field trip is this Thursday.  We will leave school at 10:30 and will have lunch in the Watsonville Plaza.  Mr. Wall, our attorney, will present a history of the Watsonville area.  We will then enter the courthouse just before noon.  The "trial" will take place in a courtroom on the third floor.

Many thanks to all my parents who have offered to drive.  If you cannot drive but would like to come by to see the play, please do so.  Everyone is welcome!

We will begin state testing tomorrow morning.  All fifth graders will be taking the science test this week.

I sent home the guidelines for the heritage report today.  We will be working on the rough draft of the report for about 2 weeks. I will then assign the final draft for homework.  The completed report is due on Wednesday, May 15.

I plan to go over the guidelines of the heritage report with my class tomorrow.  I'll show them how to organize the report and have them begin their rough drafts.  We will work on the rough drafts for about 2 weeks. Then they will write the final draft of the report as homework.  I will parcel it out in small chunks, so it won't seem so overwhelming!
