Our holiday party which will include a movie and a pizza lunch will be this Friday. If you haven't sent in $5 for the pizza and drinks, please do so tomorrow if possible. Thank you!

Thanks too for your donations to Jacob's Heart. We all wrapped the presents and made cards for the family in class. I brought the gifts to their office yesterday afternoon, and they will be delivered to the family this weekend.

Excitement is in the air as we approach the winter break! I know it can be pretty hectic, juggling all the extra activities that occur during this time of year with the usual school schedule. Thanks so much for helping your child stay on task with his or her work during these final days.

Homework this week will consist of finishing projects.

Fifth grade:
National Park Report: due Wed.
Oral presentation (no poster): due Thurs.
Middle Colonies Brochure: due Fri.

Sixth grade:
Investigation Plan for science project: due by Wed.
Egypt pop-up book: due Wed.

I know I don't usually don't assign homework over the weekend, but as important due dates are looming, I thought I would post a couple of reminders.

6th graders: Remember to submit your initial proposal (the salmon colored sheet) to me on Monday morning.

5th graders: Remember to keep working on your park reports which are due on Wednesday. Your oral presentations will be on Thursday. No poster required!

Our Poetry Cafe was a huge success today. We listened to a wide variety of poems and insightful commentary. Everyone did a wonderful job! I want to thank all my parents who provided treats and who helped to facilitate this event.

We have now officially adopted a family from the Jacob's Heart organization. This family is dealing with the expenses of having a child with cancer and is thrilled to receive some help during the holiday season. If you would like to contribute $5, please do so this week. Thank you.
