Hello,
I want to thank all of you for your kind wishes and wonderful support over the last week as I dealt with getting my daughter back home from Sendai, Japan. She flew in last Friday and is doing very well. I, too, am doing much better now and look forward to getting back to business as usual!
I sent home the permission slip for the Elementary Law trip today. As we begin our study of the U.S. Constitution and the three branches of government, this is a timely event. The "trial" will be held on April 7 at the Watsonville Courthouse. Everyone is invited to attend!
Best regards,
Mrs. Koue

The weather station project is due this Thursday, and today I sent home information on the short written piece that should accompany it.
We will be starting a persuasive essay this week. Tonight your child should consider some possible topics (I've stressed family, school or community issues - ones they know a lot about)and choose one to form a position on. They should also have three good reasons to support their positions, ones that can be easily developed with details and examples.
Thanks.

They will have three weeks to gather information. I would like to begin the rough draft of the report in class the week of March 28.
Thanks!
